Brian Hores and Leona Cottrell will present: Roman Treasures on the Bay of Naples. For the past eight summers, Hores and Cottrell have traveled to Italy to study, analyze and document Roman buildings that were buried 2,000 years ago by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius.  Through lecture and slide show, they offer a vivid depiction of Roman life when it was frozen in time on a balmy summer afternoon, Aug. 24, in the year 79.

"Ciao, Professore!" : from academy-Award nominated director Lina Wertmuller.

In this upbeat comedy, an urbane school teacher from Northern Italy is assigned to an impoverished Neopolitan town dominated by the local mafia.  The teacher develops a strong bond with his cunning students, even adopts their street smarts in a moment of crisis.

8-9pm  Classic and Contemporary Italian Poets: Selections by Dante, Eugenio Montale, Salvatore Quasimodo will be read by Professor Mario Aste , Walter Bacigalupo, LZ Nunn,Gigi Thibodeau and Tanya Larkin

ART AND CULTURE around Town:

6-8pm COOL Corner Gallery: Contemporary Italian-American Artist John Cascio and Lucia Clark.

Cena Romana: Traditional ancient Roman cuisine with Lucia Clark.

Ricardo's Cafe Trattoria: Mention "Destination World" and receive a discount on a special Italian full course dinner and a free Limoncello. Enjoy live music with Italian Jazz vocalist Carmen Marico.

Brew'd Awakening: Enjoy a cup of Espresso while tasting some Italian treats.
