“Sarafina” is powerful film about the struggles of South African school children against apartheid. The film commemorates the Soweto uprising of June 16th, 1976 and honors all the heroes and victims of the struggle. Whoopi Goldberg gives a dramatic performance as a teacher who is forbidden to teach the truth.
